Winter Body Care

My skin tends to be dry during winter so I LOVE slathering on a good body lotion after my morning shower. I sometimes use coconut oil when I have nothing else but while it is nourishing it doesn’t stop water loss from the skin. Also these days whatever body lotion I apply doubles as perfume so I like to use one that has a natural scent. Two of my absolute favourites are listed below. They are rich, natural and naturally fragranced and keep my skin well hydrated even after a hot shower (an absolute pleasure during cold weather).

Processed with VSCOcam with s2 preset1. Wandering Gypsy Body Whip – rather than apply this body whip I could eat it. The cocoa butter gives it a rich buttery scent which is lifted by a combination of some of my favourite essential oils, lavender, geranium and orange. Yumbo! On a more practical note, it is richly moisturising and my skin feels wonderfully smooth after using it. Also, the individual who makes it, Mikaela Mason is a student of mine, so by using this product you will be supporting a budding naturopath!

Richesse Vanilla and Shea Body Butter – if you have been reading this blog for a while you will likely know that I adore the Remedica range made by Lisa Phipps. Lisa’s skin care products use fair-trade shea butter and natural ingredients, are blended intelligently (there is so much thought and human pre-testing that goes into these products before they are released) and look & feel luxurious. Vanilla and Shea Body Butter is very moisturising without feeling too rich or greasy. The scent is based on vanilla, frankincense and citrus which is refreshing and slightly sweet.

Please let me know if you love these body products or if you have any others you use and love during winter.
